Here are lots of pictures of the almost-complete nursery.

Only thing missing as far as wall decorations are the flowers that Curtis is going to cut out of wood with a band saw and I will paint and nail to the walls.

Willa likes to hang out in the nursery with me while I paint.
It makes me wonder if she has any idea whats coming.

Mikey took the camera with him to Chicago so I can't put updated pictures of the nursery up yet. I finished painting the grass and I put a few clouds on the wall. My next step will be to paint the lyrics to "You Are My Sunshine" around the top, like a wallpaper border. Curtis is going to cut flowers out of wood for us, using templates that I drew and cut out of linolium. I will paint those and nail them on the walls.

Miranda had a sonogram done today, and she had told me that she would send a picture to me. The agent, Tara, sent me the following email:

"Everything looked good today. Baby was a 1 pound and I'm not sure what the ounces were. Miranda asked the ultrasound tech for a picture but she didn't give her one because she said the baby wouldn't pose for the pictures. I couldn't believe she didn't give it to her. Nothing else new. Talk to you soon."

Thats too bad. I was really looking for something physical to show for the baby. I definitely have plenty of emotions to show for!

Since I don't have any new pictures to share, here are a couple of old ones... Kim and Liz taking shots out of lemon rinds. (It sounded like such a fantastic idea at the time. We even coated the rim with sugar:).

Love you Kim & Liz!!!

Still working on it...

Mike's younger sister, Jennifer, helped us with the nursery on Saturday. She is very artistic and I am glad she had a chance to come over before she moves to Seattle this Thursday. She painted the sun in Baby Girl's room. I am so happy with the way it came out.

Against the advice of all of the professionals, we let our parents buy us a crib. We were advised not to buy any baby stuff until after we have a baby in our arms and back in our home. I'm not that patient or that disciplined.

There is a chipmunk that lives in the big wood pile in our backyard that both Gretchen and Willa want to either eat or play with, I'm not sure which. Hopefully they just want to play with it. Anyway, Gretchen has started climbing on the short wood pile to get leverage on the big wood pile to sniff out the little guy. She gets really excited.

Mike & I pulled up the carpet in the living room and put down more Pergo Sunday. We are really happy with the way it turned out. The only room we have left on the ground level is the dining room...but we have the whole upstairs to recarpet before we do the dining room.

Mike and I work really well together...I find damaged or broken stuff on the clearance rack and he fixes it good as new. Most of the boxes of Pergo were "damaged", but you would never know now that it is installed.

we ended up using this picture for the cover...at least for now...
