In the profile that Mike and I had to make in order to be "marketed" to birthmothers, we each wrote a section about each other. It was the easiest part of making the profile for me. I wrote about how Michael has many talents, but I know what he will be best at in life is being a daddy.

This picture proves that I was right!!!
Notice the swim suit on Mike :).

Monday, April 23rd at 2:00 pm we have our final hearing over the telephone with the judge to finalize the adoption.

Amy is 100% our daughter and has been since Mike and I fell in love with her in the hospital. (I am now a firm believer of love at first sight!)

Our finalization just symbolizes to me the end of the long, drawn out, painfully thorough legal process.

We've endured criminal background checks and having our finger prints taken at the court house, credit checks and financial analysis's, medical reports from thorough physicals, a series of 3 home studies with a social worker, 3 post placement visits with another social worker, 4 potential birthmother matches/emotional roller coaster rides that didn't work out, 3 appointments with a consultant, writing illustrating and publishing our profile, and MILES of paperwork!

We have one last technicality to muster, and then we are legally free & clear.

And I'd do it all over again a katrillion times for Amy.

There were so many acts of fate that fell perfectly into place for us to be fortunate enough to adopt Amy. Looking back on it, I don't think that any of it was by luck or chance. Amy was conceived to be me & Michael's daughter. We just had to fight our way through lots of obstacles to get to her.

We have started Amy on Rice cereal. We spoon feed her a little bit and then when she gets too frustrated or too hungry, we mix the cereal in her bottle. She seems to take more formula when there is rice in it, so I think she likes the taste.

Last night Amy was fussing for her dinner bottle so Mike carried her into the restroom where we fix her bottles and started warming up the water. Amy was very interested in the faucet so Mike let her stick her hand under the running water. Well, 5 minutes later she was all of the way in the sink having a good ole time!

Funny faces...

This one (below) is Amy's standard "camera face." She will be doing something so funny or cute and so I get the camera out, and as soon as she sees it...I get the camera face. Looks like it's contagious.

Here is Amy with her great grandma.

And this one is Amy during her story time. She loves to talk to her monkey and her piggy. Talk and talk and talk...

A little over 5 years ago Mike and I were talking about what we wanting out of marrage. I told him I wanted someone to carry my purse for me when I was old. Well, here is a shot of Mike on my 29th birthday. NOW I feel old! :).
